It has been a while since we started working on Speed Forge. First, we have created an Android version called "Speed Forge 3D". It has 6 levels, 3 vehicles and was written in java.
Our second version, which is almost completed is called "Speed Forge Extreme". It is coming to iPhone and Android soon. This much improved version has the following features:
  • the whole game was rewritten using C++ to use advantages of native code
  • much higher performance (smooth on old G1)
  • much better graphics:
    • about twice more geometry/triangles
    • 4 to 8 times bigger textures (using texture compression)
    • lighting effects
    • light glare effects
    • particle systems effects for sparkles, smoke, explosions
    • better visibility optimizations - geometry is not popping-in anymore
    • possibly full screen motion blur (if run on OpenGL ES 2.0 compliant system)
  • more levels: 16 instead of 6
  • more vehicles 6 instead of 3
  • more music: 4 tracks instead of 2
  • boosters and speed breakers on the tracks for more fun
  • improved Artificial Intelligence (enemies are always somewhere near you)
  • improved controls
  • more weapons
  • vehicles can be destroyed
  • 4 of the 16 levels are arena levels that the player has to fight instead of race to diversify gameplay
  • in-game tutorials/help
